Why not say your colors used and then say we don’t have to use your pallet of choice? Just don’t speak then. I’m truly saying this with respect. It’s great work but if you’re wanting to have followers then think as an instructor not as a student. Believe in your ability to teach before you teach. Just saying.

Why don’t you explain the mixture of colors being used as you change the tones? This is not a useful example of explaining your process. Why?

I never found painting to be therapeutic (though it's my favorite thing to do in life!), on the contrary, it always gives me a headache and dry eyes because of how much attention it demands. But at the same time, when I'm painting, I go into a flow state (almost like a blackout), and I don't even register what I'm doing, why I'm blending the shades and how I'm approaching the brushstrokes. The next thing I know, I'm "awake" and whatever the result is, is the finished product. This is why I could never teach the subject - I wouldn't know how to teach it!

In russian byzantine styles there is also proplasmosless painting. It seems to be similar to me. Did you tried lead white? Thank you for your content and passions for iconography. God bless you
